🐳Lessons From Jonah

Welcome to Lessons from Jonah.

What began as a simple study of Jonah quickly became something much more.

As I followed Jonah's journey, I found myself uncovering themes that run throughout all of Scripture—and throughout our own lives: running from God's presence, spiritual sleep, identity, storms, surrender, second chances, and the relentless pursuit of God.

Along the way, I noticed something I had never seen before:

Jonah stepped into a boat to run from the Lord.

Peter stepped out of a boat to move toward Him.

Both encountered God on the water.

Both experienced storms.

Both discovered the mercy of God.

This series is not just about a prophet and a fish. It is about what happens when we move away from God, what happens when we return, and what God does when He refuses to let us go.

Whether you are in a season of drifting, waiting, struggling, surrendering, or finding your way back home, I pray these lessons encourage you in your own walk with Christ.

Start Here

Part 1: Running from the Presence of the Lord

Jonah stepped into a boat to escape God's call. Peter stepped out of a boat to answer it. What happens when we move away from the very One we need most?

😴 Part 2: Why Are You Sleeping?
(Coming Soon)

Jonah slept through the storm while everyone around him fought for survival. What does spiritual sleep look like, and how does God awaken us?

🪞 Part 3: Hidden Identity
(Coming Soon)

Jonah knew who he was. He just wasn't living like it. A lesson about identity, compromise, and remembering who we are in Christ.

🙏 Part 4: Then I Remembered the Lord
(Coming Soon)

The turning point wasn't when Jonah left the fish. It was when he remembered the Lord.

💧 Part 5: Worthless Idols and the Living Source
(Coming Soon)

Every idol promises life. Only God is the Source.

🌊 Part 6: The Storm Wasn't Trying to Destroy Jonah
(Coming Soon)

Sometimes the storm isn't blocking your destiny. It's carrying you toward it.

❤️ Part 7: The God of Another Chance
(Coming Soon)

The word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time. Thank God He still speaks after our failures.

🐋 Part 8: Death Before Destiny
(Coming Soon)

The fish wasn't Jonah's prison. It was his preparation.

A Note About This Series

The deeper I study Jonah, the more I discover connections to Peter, Joseph, the Prodigal Son, Paul, David, and countless others throughout Scripture.

For that reason, this page will continue to grow as new lessons emerge.

After all, I thought I was studying Jonah.

Instead, I found myself.
